Meet Susie Sweeney. Susie is the Director of Loup’s Carrier Relations Team and has worked for Loup’s parent company, Union Pacific Railroad, for 22 years. “I wanted to work at Loup because you can move quickly and manage your own business area,” Susie said. “I feel valued in my position and believe I’m able to make a difference at Loup as I’m empowered to make decisions.” Susie especially appreciates that at Loup, if you manage data and have a solid business case, you can implement new solutions.

As Director of Carrier Relations, Susie’s job responsibilities include working with her team to manage more than 200 trucking companies to move Loup’s intermodal shipments.

Day-to-day, Susie:

• Oversees the 21-person Carrier Relations Team
• Finds the best prices/services to move shipments
• Coordinates more than 180,000 yearly Union Pacific cross-town moves as well as UPS moves

Susie said the most rewarding part of her position is the people she works with. “I truly feel employees at Loup are some of the most hard working and loyal individuals I have ever met,” she said. Along with the people, Susie enjoys having the ability to save money for Loup. “I get excited when we reduce cost,” she said.

In her free time, Susie likes to spend time with her husband, son, and daughter. She also plays piano and collects rare sea shells from Sanibel, Florida.
