Meet Olutosin Makinde. He is a Loup Carload Operations Manager who has worked for Loup and Loup’s parent company, Union Pacific Railroad, for a combined total of nine years. What brought Olutosin to the company? “Union Pacific Railroad is a great organization with fantastic individuals,” he said. “It provides a unique opportunity to utilize my leadership, sales, and customer service skills to improve organizational processes and enhance Union Pacific Railroad strategic objectives.”

As an Operations Manager, Olutosin’s responsibilities involve business development and leading a high performing team of individuals.

Day-to-day, Olutosin:

  • Develops and coordinates door-to-door shipping solutions for finished vehicles
  • Ensures safe and cost effective solutions that incorporate rail
  • Provides customers with the tools and expertise to minimize disruptions along their supply chain
  • Maximizes transportation performance with 24/7 shipment visibility across all rail carriers

“What I find rewarding about my job is building customer trust and loyalty through effective engagement and navigating through the many different daily challenges to meet and exceed customer satisfaction,” Olutosin said. “I get the opportunity to simplify operational efficiency through automation, knowledge management and standardization.” He also enjoys getting the opportunity to develop new product offerings and enhancements to create market growth penetration.

In his free time, Olutosin enjoys spending time with his family and playing soccer.
