Get to Know Loup’s Carload Team: A Day in the Life of a Loup Senior Carload Logistics Manager
Meet Matt Bosch. He is a Carload Senior Logistics Manager who has worked for Loup’s parent company Union Pacific Railroad for a total of 14 years, with four of those years spent at Loup. Matt chose to work at Union Pacific because he loves the opportunity to engage with so many different industries in the course of supporting customers’ needs. “It keeps things interesting, fresh, and challenging,” he said.
As a Senior Logistics Manager, Matt’s job responsibilities include leading the Loup Carload Operations Team, which helps improve customers’ supply chains through Loup’s ShipmentVision rail visibility software and other logistics service offerings.
- Works to resolve critical operational issues
- Develops new product capabilities
- Finds and wins new business
- Coaches and builds up the team
- Promotes Loup’s value throughout the Union Pacific organization
Matt finds it especially rewarding to help members of the team expand their toolbox to earn new opportunities. He also enjoys interacting with so many different parts of both the commercial and operation aspects of Union Pacific, hiring and onboarding new employees into the Union Pacific/Loup family, and simply making a customer’s day better.
In his free time, Matt chases his 10-month-old son Charlie around the house, takes advantage of great deals on last-minute flights (before the pandemic, at least), and plays 9 holes of golf while reminiscing about the days when he used to have time to play 18 holes.
