Market Spotlight: Wind Turbines

Wind turbine components are large and abnormally shaped, so they can be difficult to ship. But that hasn’t stopped us from giving wind shippers access to rail.

For years, UPDS has teamed up with Union Pacific Railroad to offer the Wind 2 Rail program, a seamless solution for transporting wind components and reaping the benefits of rail.

Our job at UPDS is to move wind components between trucks and trains, so they can travel for the long haul via rail. We have an established network of wind distribution centers where components can be unloaded from rail cars, staged near wind farms, then be transferred to trucks for quick delivery to their destinations.

So whether you’re shipping towers, nacelles, hubs and/or blades, we can deliver them to destinations throughout North America.
